Lesson #20
F Position - L.H. Chords
3 Chord Positions
3-note chords have 3 positions; root position, 1st inversion and 2nd inversion.
3 Chord Positions
I covered chord positions in an earlier lesson, but it's worth repeating, and chances are, I will cover this topic again each month.
When the F major chord is in 1st inversion, the F is the top note of the chord. I rarely play the F major chord in 1st inversion.
When the F major chord is in 2nd inversion, the F is the middle note of the chord.

Understanding Chord Positions
It's good to be familiar with the different positions of each chord, but it's not necessary to memorize them...they will come to you in time.
The best thing to do is memorize each chord in root position and learn the inversions as the need arises.
